Conditions of participation

The competition is open to piano players of all nationalities who were born on or after 1 January 1984.The application to the Liszt Ferenc International Piano Competition

can be completed via e-mail to competition@filharmonia.hu or submitted by post (Philharmonia Hungary Concert Agency / Piano Competition, H-1094 Budapest, Páva u. 10-12.). All applications must be received, or postmarked before 2nd May 2016.

All of the following documents must be enclosed:

• a completely filled-in application form

• 20 minutes recorded music

If you would like to submit your application electronically, please send the videos of your application material (only in .mp4 format) via https://www.wetransfer.com/ to  competition@filharmonia.hu.  Please add your name to the message field and attach once again the filled-in application form so that proper identification could be made.

• brief curriculum vitae

• certificate of musical qualification – copy of diploma

• two letters of recommendation, from a prominent personality in music life specifically written for participation in the 2016 Liszt Ferenc International Piano Competition

• a digital copy of the applicant’s passport or ID

• two recent, high-quality photographs in a digital format that are suitable for publication and free of copyright, one close-up portrait and one promotional photo

• the copy of the receipt about the transfer of the entry fee

Please write your first name and your family name in the title of the transfer. Please cover the costs of the transfer! The application is valid only after the entry fee has been paid and the letter of confirmation received. The entry fee will not be refunded to contestants who withdraw from the competition. If the application is not accepted, the fee will be refunded. Candidates will be informed of the acceptance of their application by 10 June, 2016.
